This is the domain and hosting service provider FutureU uses the most. They have the all too rare live customer support and they are great to work with. Cheap pricing too!

Adobe makes the free Acrobat Reader most people use to view PDF files. They also make a whole suite of creative products that are "best-in-class" so it's worth your while to check them out. Be forwarned: the products are top notch, but also high end in price. You can often find a lower price alternative for some of what you need to do (see Nuance below). But some of Adobe's tools, like Premier, the movie editing software, are hard to beat.

Nuance PDF Converter Professional 5.
Nuance's PDF Converter is only $99.00 and I've seen it as low as $70.00 on sale. It handles most of your every day needs for editing and converting documents to PDF or to convert PDF to Word. And for a lot less than Adobe Acrobat. But if you want complicated document design tools or collaborative document editing, you'll probably end up with Acrobat. We use them both at FutureU to save money on licenses. The designers get Acrobat. Everybody else uses Nuance PDF Converter.

AVG, together with ZoneAlarm (below) make up our first line of defense against viruses, spam, and hackers. We've used the free versions for years and no FutureU computer goes without both of them.
