When we first
started sending you this occasional e-newsletter,
we used plain text in a simple email format.
Serviceable, but not much pizzazz or
functionality. Since then, we've never stopped
hunting for a more appealing solution that was
also affordable enough for us to continue offering
you our newsletter for free.
The answer?
The
Sandy Bay
Newsletter Engine. The folks at Sandy Bay
don't pay us to say so, but we like their product
a lot and we think you will too. Here's why:
This newsletter engine gives you more
control over the information you want to receive
from FutureU. For example, the engine
automatically detects whether your computer must
view HTML or plain text. Then the engine provides
the appropriate version of the newsletter for your
capabilities.
Also, each story starts out
with a shorter summary, so you may quickly scan
the headlines and story leads, then decide for
yourself whether to click on "More >>". This
saves you valuable time and lets you go straight
to the content that interests you.
To
offer you such enhancements, we are moving your
email address to Sandy Bay from Yahoo Groups. As
always, you may opt out at any time by following
the link at the bottom of any page. You may still
forward any story, or the entire FutureU
e-newsletter, to your colleagues. And they may
"opt in" by following the "Subscribe" link on any
page.
Although we expect a smooth
transition, we apologize in advance for any
technical glitches. Because of the move, some hot
links that you may have archived from our past
newsletters may no longer function. If this
occurs, please let us know. We archive all
newsletters on our main server and will let you
know in a future issue where to find them.
If you publish an e-newsletter yourself or
envision yourself in the publisher's seat, Sandy
Bay might be the engine for you. We recommend it.
Meanwhile, we'll continue our search for the best
tools for all your communication and education
needs and let you know what we discover.
